Courtney Pate, MSW, LCSW-A

Courtney Pate, LCSW-A is a 2025 graduate of the Joint MSW program at UNCG/NCA&T and currently a PhD student at UNCG/NCA&T with a research focus on neurodiversity within adult populations. Courtney holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology from George Mason University and a M.Ed. in Learning and Behavioral Disorders from the University of Lynchburg. Courtney is a former Exceptional Children’s teacher and school administrator, and has extensive experience supporting individuals with ADHD, ASD, IDD, and various learning and behavioral challenges. Through her MSW program, Courtney worked within Alamance County Child Protective Services, Assessments Division (2023-2024), providing support to school-aged children and their families. In 2024-2025, Courtney served as a therapist trainee specializing in neurodiversity within BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and other marginalized population groups at the UNCG Counseling and Psychological Services Department.Courtney is from Lynchburg, VA, but has lived in Burlington for morth than 25 years. Courtney enjoys thrifting with her family and playing with her pets. Some of Courtney’s favorite things include pizza, chocolate, and a crispy Diet Coke! Courtney is an avid potter with a full pottery studio in her home!
