About Dr. Amber U. Khan

Dr. Amber U. Khan, NCC, LCMHC

Dr. Amber Khan (she/her) is a National Board Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) at Greater Hope Center for OCD. She is also licensed as a North Carolina School Counselor. Dr. Khan earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, followed by a Master of Science (MS) in School Counseling, and a PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision from North Carolina A&T State University.

With more than 13 years of experience in the counseling field, Dr. Khan specializes in working with individuals navigating depression, anxiety, stress, life transitions, career and academic planning, cultural concerns, and overall wellness. She practices as a trauma informed therapist.

Dr. Khan has presented and published on a range of behavioral health topics both nationally and internationally. She has traveled extensively across the United States and has collaborated with national behavioral health organizations. In the Triad community, Dr. Khan has delivered over 50 invited presentations and training sessions.

Her therapeutic approach draws from Humanistic or Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERPT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).

Outside of the therapy room, Dr. Khan enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with her family.
