About Evan
Evan Alvarez
Evan Alvarez (he/him) was a student intern with Greater Hope Center. He will graduate with his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in May 2026. He is on track to be Licensed to practice as a LCMHCA in Summer of 2026. We are thrilled to have him re-join our team upon Licensure.
Evan is excited to work with individuals of all ages experiencing Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), anxiety, depression, and related concerns. His therapeutic approach utilizes evidence-based practices such as Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He also provides mindfulness-based practices to aid clients in moments of distress.
Evan strongly believes in the collaborative nature in a therapeutic space, respecting a client’s unique autonomy, individuality, and values. This approach is centered on empowerment, finding and recognizing the strengths of each individual that enters his room. In doing this, he believes that meaningful desired change can be achieved.
When Evan is outside of his office, he spends his time hiking, listening to live music, baking, and traveling.
